Zeam applies risk based anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) controls aligned with applicable regulations. These controls are intended to protect users, reduce financial crime risk, and support the integrity of the platform.
Zeam’s compliance framework is risk-based. This means that controls are applied proportionately, based on how services are used and the level of risk involved. Not all users are asked for the same information at the same time. Verification requirements may increase as users access additional features, transact at higher levels, or use services that carry higher financial crime risk. Verification is managed through ZeamID, which allows users to complete required checks as needed, directly within the platform. Compliance requirements may also evolve over time in response to changes in laws, regulations, or risk conditions.
Zeam uses a tiered verification approach that allows users to access services progressively. When an account is first created, access may be limited. As verification is completed, additional features become available. Certain services or transaction capabilities may only be accessible once a specific level of verification has been reached. In some cases, further information may be requested after an account has already been verified. This may occur where account activity changes or where additional checks are required.
Zeam applies ongoing monitoring to identify unusual or potentially high-risk activity. This may result in account reviews or requests for clarification. During a review, certain transactions or features may be temporarily limited until the review is completed. Where required by law, Zeam may submit reports to relevant authorities.
Additional verification and due diligence apply to merchants, business customers, and institutional users. These users may process transactions on behalf of others or operate at higher volumes. As a result, Zeam may require information relating to the business, its ownership and control, and the nature of its activities. Approval to operate as a merchant or business user is subject to a compliance review and is not automatic.
In certain situations, we may need to review an account or place temporary limits on some features. This helps ensure the platform remains safe and reliable for everyone. For security and regulatory reasons, we may not always be able to share full details about these decisions.
Any information you share with Zeam is used only for verification, security, and compliance purposes. Zeam applies appropriate safeguards to protect personal information in line with applicable data protection and privacy requirements.
Zeam operates across multiple regions, and services and compliance obligations may vary depending on location. It’s important to ensure that your use of the platform is permitted in your country.
